The Importance of Mentorship
Mentorship at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
Both in the US and abroad, our mentorship program is an essential aspect of our children’s home ministry. Offering guidance, support, encouraging bible study participation, and wisdom in everyday life situations to young teens as they navigate their faith and personal development.
Mentorship allows youth to see Christianity lived out in real and relatable ways, offering them a practical blueprint for how to navigate life’s challenges while staying true to their faith.
As mentors, our role is not just to teach or guide, but to form meaningful relationships with teens that create safe spaces for growth. By providing spiritual direction, developing meaningful relationships, supporting emotional well-being, and encouraging leadership, mentors have a lasting impact on the lives of teens, especially when they transition out of the children’s homes to live on their own.
Through mentorship, these young teens can be empowered to live out their faith with confidence and purpose, helping them grow into strong, resilient leaders who are equipped to face the challenges of the world while staying grounded in their relationship with God.
